Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra reveals that Aamir Khan tried hard to convince Hrithik Roshan to play Karan Singhania in Bollywood’s epic film ‘Rang De Basanti’, but Hrithik didn’t believe it again. Farhan and Abhishek had turned down the offer

According to the report of News18, in this book, Rakesh has told that many big stars refused to play the role of Karan Singhania. I first offered it to Farhan Akhtar. This was a time he had never acted in a film before and was one of the most respected young directors. But things didn’t work out. After this Rakesh further explains that when I narrated to Abhishek Bachchan, he also did not show interest.

Aamir Khan went to his house to convince Hrithik

According to the report, Rakesh has further written that when he requested Aamir Khan to talk to Hrithik Roshan, Aamir also went to Hrithik’s house. Aamir personally met Hrithik and said, ‘It’s a good film – kar le’ (do). But the talk with Hrithik did not work out. Finally, Siddharth agreed to do the film in January 2005, a month before the shoot. Siddharth stepped into Bollywood through this film.
