Tata Motors ranks third with year-on-year growth in November 2021 after Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai
In November 2021, Tata Motors received an excellent response for its two electric vehicles – the Nexon EV and the Tigor EV, indicating that the shift to greener and cleaner options has been prioritized. Tata Motors EV sales increased to 1,751 units from 413 units that were sold back in November 2020. The Nexon and Tigor EVs are backed by Tata Power’s charging infrastructure.
Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle sales ended last month on a positive note. Sales increased by 38 per cent to 29,780 units from 21,640 units sold in November 2020. However, the company faced a MoM de-growth of 12 per cent as compared to 33,926 units sold in October 2021.
Tata Sales Breakup November 2021
Tata Nexon was the best selling model in the company lineup. Sales grew 63 per cent to 9,831 units from 6,021 units sold in November 2020. However, there was a 3 per cent MoM de-growth from 10,096 units sold in October 2021. The Nexon sub-4-metre SUV is all set to get a new one. The variant, though whether it is a flex-fuel model, a CNG or a hybrid model, is yet to be confirmed.
The second best selling Tata PV in November 2021 was the newly launched Tata Punch Micro SUV. Last month sales stood at 6,110 units, which is 28 per cent lower than 8,453 units sold in October 2021. Punch has found its mention in the list of top 25 cars sold in the country last month by claiming the 14th spot.
Once Tata’s best-selling car, Tiago sales declined 15 per cent to 4,998 units in November 2021, down from 5,890 units sold in November 2020, as compared to 4,040 units sold in October 2021 increased by 24 percent. The 4 star rated hatchback has also been featured at number 8 in the list of best selling hatchbacks in India in the last one month.
Tata Altroz, Harrier, Tigor and Safari
Four more models came in rapid succession from the company lineup. Tata Altroz at number 4 saw sales of 3,025 units up 52 per cent YoY from 6,260 units sold in November 2020. MoM sales also fell 41 per cent from 5,128 units sold in October 2021.
It was followed by the Harrier, whose sales grew 18 per cent to 2,607 units in the previous month. This was higher than the 2,210 units sold in November 2020, while MoM sales declined by 16 per cent from 3,097 units sold in October 2021. Tata Harrier recorded its highest ever monthly sales in October 2021, this is the first time that the monthly sales of the Harrier has crossed the 3,000 mark. Launched in January 2019.
Tigor sales grew 42 per cent to 1,785 units from 1,259 units sold in November 2020 and 30 per cent higher from 1,377 units sold in October 2021. On the other hand Safari sales declined by 18 per cent MoM to 1,424 units from 1,735 units sold in November 2021. in October 2021. Tata Motors has increased the price of Safari by up to Rs 7,000 for its automatic variant. The automatic is now priced between Rs 17.84 lakh to Rs 23.20 lakh. There has been no change in the prices of the manual variants of Safari.
