Tata Punch’s sales were second only to Nexon, but surpassed Altroz, Tiago, Harrier, Safari and Tigor in the first month of launch.
Tata Motors sales grew by 82.56 per cent to 33,926 units in October 2021. This was against 18,583 units sold in October 2020. The company’s MoM sales also grew by 31.86 per cent as compared to 25,729 units sold in September 2021.
Tata Car Sales Breakup October 2021
Tata Nexon has maintained its dominant position in the sales charts over the past one month. Sales in October 2021 stood at 10,096 units, a growth of 94.94 per cent as compared to 5,179 units sold in October 2020. Nexon currently holds 29.76 percent stake. Tata Motors also dominates the EV space with the Nexon EV and Tigor EV. Both these EVs have registered their highest ever monthly sales of 1,586 units in the last month.
The Tata Punch, which was launched in India in October 2021 for Rs 5.49 lakh, has become the second best seller in the company lineup last month. The company’s smallest SUV is placed below the Tata Nexon and is a Global NCAP 5-star rated vehicle. Launched in India on October 18, Punch registered sales of 8,453 units in its first month itself, which is much higher than the sales of Altroz, Tiago, Harrier, Safari and Tigor. Apart from bringing in good sales numbers for the company, the Tata Punch was also the tenth best-selling car overall in October 2021.
Number 3 was Tata Altroz with 5,128 units sold last month, a growth of 3.58 per cent as compared to 4,951 units sold in October 2020. However, there was an 11.16 per cent MoM de-growth in 5,772 units sold in September 2021, which brought down its share. Up 22.43 percent to 15.12 percent across the company lineup.
Tata Tiago sales declined from 5,743 units sold in October 2020 to 4,040 units in the previous month. MoM sales also declined by 21.11 per cent as compared to 5,121 units sold in September 2021. Tata Motors is now ready to launch the Tiago CNG.
The Tiago CNG will be Tata’s first CNG-powered car and will be the 10th overall in the country. The Tiago CNG will be offered exclusively on the mid-spec XT and XZ variants. Unofficial booking has started.
Tata Harrier and Safari
Sales of Tata Harrier Plus Safari have surpassed that of arch rivals MG Hector and Hector Plus in 2021. Harrier sales last month stood at 3,097 units, a growth of 82.82 per cent as compared to 1,694 units sold in October 2020. The sales of MoM increased by 9.87 per cent as compared to 2,821. Units sold in September 2021.
The new Tata Safari, which was launched in India earlier this year, saw sales of up to 1,735 units last month. This was a 15.67 per cent MoM increase from 1,500 units sold in September 2021.
Tata Tigor compact sedan rounded out the sales list with 1,377 units sold last month, up 35.53 per cent from 1,016 units sold in October 2020. This was a 5.60 per cent MoM increase as compared to 1,304 units sold in September 2021.
