Mahindra has finally revealed the official price list of all the variants of the upcoming XUV700 – booking details also announced
The XUV500’s successor, the Mahindra XUV700, will have its task over from day one. It is going up against the popular brands in this segment, which means a rough journey right from the beginning. To ensure its success, Mahindra has introduced several updates including visual enhancements, new engine options and some segment first features.
Mahindra XUV700 Prices
As announced last month, the XUV700 prices will start at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-sh for the base petrol MT variant. The diesel base variant costs Rs 12.49 lakh. Petrol AT starts from Rs 15.59 lakh. Diesel AT price starts from Rs 16.19 Lakh. The petrol MT top variant costs Rs 17.59 lakh while the AT petrol top variant costs Rs 19.19 lakh. Below is the complete variant-wise price list of the new Mahindra XUV700.
Select variants of the XUV700 are also on offer with a 7 seater option. The above prices are for the five seater option. For 7 seater option, you will have to pay 60 thousand rupees more. The luxury pack with the XUV700 AT comes at an additional Rs 1.8 lakh.
AWD is currently on offer only with the AX7 diesel AT, and comes for an additional Rs 1.3 lakh. With the luxury pack, the AWD diesel AT AX7 7 seater top of the line variant will cost around Rs 24 lakh. All prices are ex-sh.
Previews will be available at dealerships from 1 October 2021. The test drives will start from October 2 in a phase-wise manner. The official bookings will open from October 7, 10 AM onwards. The delivery date of the XUV700 will be announced on October 10. The deliveries of the petrol XUV700 will start first. The deliveries of the diesel XUV700 will start later.
Mahindra XUV700 Design & Styling
Though the XUV700 will carry over the basic silhouette of its predecessor, it gets a number of updates that give it an entirely new identity. Some of the key changes include new C-shaped headlights, attractive LED DRLs, an updated grille that is more upright, a relaxed bonnet, and distinctive shoulder lines. Other updates include new alloy wheel design, tail lights, bumpers and tailgate. The XUV700 will get flush-mounted levers for the door handles, which compliment the sporty profile of the SUV.
In terms of dimensions, the XUV700 will be bigger than its predecessor. It will be wider and will come with a longer wheelbase. These improvements have been made possible by making necessary changes to the chassis. The updated chassis will also be tougher. It will offer several benefits like better controls, better responsiveness, better riding experience and less vibration. Being larger, the XUV700 will have more cabin space for everyone, including the second and third row passengers.
New Features of Mahindra XUV700
The introduction of new features has shown to bring better results in the Indian car market. We have already seen that with products like Venue, Seltos and the new-gen Creta. Keeping this in mind Mahindra has equipped the XUV700 with a wide range of features. One of the highlights is the dual screen layout, similar to the setup used on typical Mercedes cars.
Segment-first features include the Level 2 Autonomous Driving Assist System (ADAS), which will be available with the higher trims of the XUV700. The ADAS will support functions like Lane-Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes, electronic parking brake, automatic climate control and hill hold. The SUV will be offered in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations.
Mahindra XUV700 Powertrain Alternatives
The XUV700 will borrow its engine from the new generation Thar. The only difference would be that the engines would be tuned to provide more power to support the XUV700’s larger proportions. The 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk diesel motor on the XUV700 is expected to make 185 hp. Similarly, the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol motor is expected to deliver 190 hp. Transmission options for both the engines will include a 6-speed manual and Aisin’s 6-speed torque-converter automatic unit.
